ഇന്ത്യയുടെ ദേശീയഗാനം എഴുതിയതു രവീന്ദ്രനാഥ ടാഗാറാണെന്നു ഇന്ത്യയിലെ ഏതു കുട്ടിയ്ക്കും അറിയാം .പക്ഷെ ,സ്കൂള്‍മുറ്റത്ത്‌ നമ്മള്‍ ചൊല്ലിയ ദേശീയപ്രതിജ്ഞയെഴുതിയ പൈദിമാരി വെങ്കിട്ട സുബ്ബറാവുവിനെ എത്രപേര്‍ അറിയും… ”ഇന്ത്യ എന്റെ രാജ്യമാണ് .എല്ലാ ഇന്ത്യക്കാരും എന്റെ സഹോദരീസഹോദരന്മാരാണ് .ഞാന്‍ എന്റെ രാജ്യത്തെ സ്നേഹിക്കുന്നു..സമ്പൂര്‍ണ്ണവും വൈവിധ്യപൂര്‍ണവുമായ അതിന്റെ പാരമ്പര്യത്തില്‍ …..”. അറിയാതെ കുട്ടിക്കാലത്തെ സ്കൂള്‍മുറ്റത്തേയ്ക്ക് നമ്മെ കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടുപോകുന്ന à´ˆ പ്രതിജ്ഞയുടെ കര്‍ത്താവായ വെങ്കിട്ട സുബ്ബറാവുവിനെ കുട്ടികള്‍ക്ക് മാത്രമല്ല ,നമ്മുടെ അദ്ധ്യാപകര്‍ക്കും വേണ്ടവിധം അറിയില്ല . 1947നു ശേഷമുള്ള ഇന്ത്യയുടെ ചരിത്രം…
